Operation CatNap came off without a hitch. I gave Zara extra food and grabbed her. Zara was silent, so Mimi wasn't tipped off. I gave her extra food too and grabbed her. I always think I that this will be the time that I can't get them in the carriers. I only had that happen once when my late cat Harlee hid so well that I couldn't find her. I found her after I called and canceled the appointment, of course.

The vet was doing curbside service. When I got there, I called but they didn't answer. Then someone came out and asked what I needed. The vet tech came out to get the girls. And I sat in the car, freezing despite a blanket, and playing with my phone. The time went relatively fast though. Finally they brought them out. The vet said that Zara wasn't TOO bad. She said that she'd call about the blood work later today.

The girls were grateful to get back home. And they promptly ate the food that I used to distract them!

The vet called about Zara"s blood work. She's close to having thyroid problems but doesn't have it yet. But her kidneys are starting to have issues. The vet wants to put her on a special kidney diet. I'll stop by on Monday and pick up some samples.

Fresh Meal Plan had a win with Pesto Shrimp. I still think that I should see what I can cook because Zara's blood work was expensive and her prescription food will be expensive. Well, now I'm trying Metabolic Meals. So much for that. They offer a weight loss coach and I might do that depending on what it costs.

I'm too tired to go shopping. I'll go tomorrow. I need to get there early enough to pick up Zara's meds. Plus I want to look at a recipe for Peanut Butter Protein Bars.

It's very satisfying to see my weight trending down in the FitBit app.

I've got my BlendJet. Cool beans! Smoothies tomorrow! Need to look up the recipe.

Took a nap and slept through until morning. The girls seemed crashed out too. Mimi just came in and checked on me.

Good thing that I'm up early (6 AM). Wind chill advisory tonight of -15 to -25 F. I want to wait to go to the store until it warms up today, such as it is. That gives me time to eat breakfast and have a nap before I go out.

I tried to pet Mimi and she freaked out. I'm not taking you back to the vet, love.

I tried out the BlendJet. It worked well. But I forgot the protein powder. And the recipe was different than the one that I originally saw and called for real peanut butter, not a powder. And it called for more almond milk than would fit in the blender. And I didn't realize that the BlendJet label was on the inside of the blender, so I had to keep fishing paper out of my smoothie. LOL.

It's snowing. Suckage. Weather.com says that it will stop around 12 PM. Now they're saying 2:15 PM. And the wind chill advisory is from 6 on.

I have some sausage and eggs to use up, and one of my Keto cookbooks has a recipe for biscuits and gravy. (Almond and coconut flour biscuits, of course.) So I'll try it. I love biscuits and gravy. I also found a recipe for a crustless cheese quiche, and I'm going to add spinach and mushrooms to it. I have frozen spinach and jars of mushrooms that I could use up. Hmm. Can't find my pie pan.

I found a place that ships individual Keto meals instead of on a plan. That's good for when I cook for a break. Though they gave me the idea to make my own quiche.

It's funny that the raging hunger that I felt the first few days in the diet has died down.

I looked at dog adoption listings and found a really friendly dog that likes cats (and other dogs and ferrets and...) Can't do it though. There's a limit on the number of pets allowed, and I think that there are size restrictions. This friendly girl is a lab mix.

I have a lot of stuff to do, so I should stop poking at recipes. And LJ. Uh-oh, Mimi jumped on my lap.

Well, crud. I'm ready to go, but it's still snowing. The weather forecasters say that it will end at 4:45 PM. I can drive in snow, but don't like it. It isn't heavy. Well, I guess that I'll go brush off the car and come back in to warm up and see.

Shoveled snow and brushed off the car. I had a moment when I thought that it wasn't that cold. Yes, it is. I'm making some coffee to take with me and then I'll go.

Shopped until I dropped. Found some glass pie pans for a heckuva lot cheaper than Amazon. Found everything that I needed, even elusive coconut flour.

Now I'm thawing. I believe them when they're issuing a wind chill warning tonight because it's already cold and windy. Already there's a wind chill of -9 F. Mimi is warming up my lap. Thanks, Mimi.

I need to get a handle on my money. I looked into Quicken, but it's gotten a slew of bad reviews lately. After some trials that I didn't like (free software is worth what you paid for it), I wound up with MoneySpire. Got my main accounts linked.

Two to five inches of snow in Monday. So much for getting the samples of Zara's food.

Talked to Mom. She's scrambling to get things done before she goes to Chicago to help my aunt during her hip surgery. She's also dreading being in Chicago. We opened late Christmas presents. She loved the necklace of a mother elephant and a baby elephant that I gave her. (Mom is into elephants.) I got a plush furry robe, a velour throw, and an oversized sweatshirt saying "The sloth is my spirit animal". (I think that I asked for that. It wasn't a comment.) I decided that it would be cozy to wear the sweatshirt with leggings. The free ones haven't come yet, and I realized that I'll have to shorten them because they aren't petite. Woman Within had an Amazon store and had petite plus size leggings, so I bought them.

I kept on yawning while I was talking to Mom, and I wondered why, when I remembered that I got up at 6 AM this morning. It's time to go to sleep.
