Growing Old Disgracefully
Mar. 24th, 2021 11:18 pmI had a music class on how to break down or "chunk" music while you're learning it. It was a good class and talked about how best to learn and practice a song, including if you're getting frustrated, sometimes it's better to walk away for a while. I asked about learning to sing and play accompaniment at the same time and got some suggestions.
I think that I'm going to cancel the "piano pass" for a while and just take private lessons. There are some intermediate classes on the "piano pass" that would be worthwhile, but I'm not at that level yet. I'm going to continue with the "guitar pass" for a while. When I have enough money, I might buy the online course that the guitar instructor recommended to me. Right now, though, I'm working on chords.
I've got the electric guitar! It's gorgeous! Heavy though. I'll see if I can get a picture of it later. I'm well on my way to growing old disgracefully :)

I don't have the case for the guitar yet, so I'm keeping it in its box. And I need to figure out what cable to get for it. (I wanted to wait to see what kind of jacks that the guitar and amp have.) Done. And where I can plug this puppy in! It might have to be the TV room or possibly the office. There's a free outlet near my "music studio". And I wonder where the guitar strap that I ordered from Amazon is. (Answer: in the mailbox.)
I had (frozen) Shrimp Scampi and (frozen) cauliflower rice for dinner tonight. Food of the gods. Life is good :) I'm tempted to go to Aldi and clean them out of Shrimp Scampi.
However, I got distracted by the guitar and fed the cats late. Bad Mommy!
Did my practicing. I seem to have gotten a handle on my guitar chord. And my piano chords. I'm having a tough time learning my Italian song though.
Now I will get to sleep SOON.
