Food Is the Porn of Middle Age
May. 23rd, 2021 12:30 amI overslept the mortgage webinar by a half-hour, bur then logged in. I didn't realize that it was a four-hour webinar! I'm going to need to save some money and pay off some credit card debt before I will qualify for a mortgage (which doesn't surprise me). But they lay out exactly what you'll need to qualify instead of guessing. Also, they pay only asking price or less, and it's a seller's market right now. I've downloaded all their documents to peruse at my leisure. So it was worth it.
Had a nice nap. Zara snuggled in my lap after I woke up. Very cute.
Ran out to get almond milk and some soda. Sheesh, it's hot and humid out. (I say that like it's a surprise to me. Adrienne, you live in Central Illinois, which is always hot and humid in the summer.) High of 87 F tomorrow.
Weeded the lettuce bed (every weed in the area was going, "Hey! There's water over here") and thinned the lettuce. I should get some nice, well not heads of lettuce because they're loose leaf, bunches of lettuce. Tomorrow I'll do the spinach bed.
Hmm. It's a little late to grow peas and carrots. I should plant some for the fall. I looked at a planting guide for Illinois, and it looks like the only things that I could plant now are beans and cucumbers (neither of which I'm thrilled by) or zucchini (maybe) or summer squash.
Talked to Mom. She's feeling tired and is having a lot of stuff break and need to be fixed. She wants to know when I'll be coming to visit, and I said that I didn't know yet. June feels too soon. We talk about food a lot. I said that food was the porn of middle age.
There's a singing class early tomorrow afternoon that I want to attend, so I'll need to set an alarm.
