I've Arrived Safely at Mom's House

Some guy banged on the door at 5 AM. He said that he needed to go to Chicago for a family emergency and needed a loan of money. I finally gave him $40 to get rid of him. He wanted more, but I said "No." What a great start to the day. I'm not holding my breath that I'll get the money back.

My instructor helped me with one problem, but now I have a new one. I emailed him, but I night need to hand the assignment in as is. Sigh.

My pet sitter stopped by. She forgot that I was taking care of the girls this morning.

My instructor graciously figured out what was wrong with my program and told me how to fix it. So I was able to hand in a working program, but I left VERY late.

My leg was the limiting factor. It would cramp up after about an hour, so I needed to take a break. But I made it to my mom's house very late. I'm going to eat oatmeal and crash.

Mom's Home

I managed to get up on little sleep. I couldn't get Mom's shower to work, so I gave up and threw myself together. Mom called and said that they were running late, so I ate breakfast. Finally, they drove up. (My mom's friend was driving her.)

Mom was less fragile than I had feared, and she's getting around. We went out for lunch and picked up Mom's mail.

Then we napped. I set an alarm, but Mom's still asleep.

Oh, I forgot to mention my trial of Sirius XM yesterday. The first station that I found was a U2 station, but I got tired of it after an hour. Then I found a "Classic Rock Rewind" station, which plays classic rock from the days of cassettes. I liked it, and it helped keep me going through the long drive.

Wrangled my box of books and such inside. Now I'm procrastinating getting my laptop set up so I can do homework. Oh, frabjous day! Got the laptop set up to use Mom's internet. Now I can do homework. But probably not tonight. I'm too tired to figure my programs out.
