Storage and Cute U-Hauls

Mom called. She thought that her Uber transaction was fraudulent and had her card canceled, but it was legit. Sigh. She's really upset. Crap, it seems that whatever I do is wrong. Mom called again. They reinstated the supposedly fraudulent charge, but because the account was closed, we're still getting new cards.

Hmm. The easiest way to make a space for the entertainment center in my storage unit is to get rid of the old washer and dryer that is in there. I wonder if I can get someone to come out on Friday afternoon.

My Italian teacher wants to reschedule for 1 PM. That leaves me wondering what to do with the extra hour. Maybe load the car with stuff from work that I want to stash in storage to make room to get stuff out. (It's like a puzzle box in here.) I don't want to start cleaning out the refrigerator until after I go out because I want to change clothes.

I need to make a grocery list though. I need to figure out what I want to eat. Veggie lasagna? I found a recipe that sounds delish: Spaghetti & Spinach with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce, but I need to order the sun-dried tomatoes from Amazon, and they won't get here until Wednesday. The lasagna is too similar though. Tuna casserole? Yeah, and Cherry-Almond-Quinoa for lunch.

Italian went well. We discussed my going back and forth to Chicago. It's good to have a lesson again. I don't know when they got fun instead of stressful, but my teacher is laid-back.

Oh crud, they're predicting thunderstorms this evening. I need to get out to the storage place and the grocery store as soon as I eat lunch.

Loaded my car to go to the storage place. I'm boiling. It's 88F.

The OKCupid person responded. Cool. She's piquing my curiosity because she's into sailing but wound up in Champaign, which is hardly a sailing hotspot. She said that she has friends there.

I got the area near the washer and dryer in my storage place cleaned out. I'll call the junk hauler tomorrow. Then I got my shots. Then I went to the grocery store. The ingredients for tuna casserole are cheap.

While I was out, I saw the cutest little U-Haul, about the size of a van. I'm mulling over renting it instead of a van and driving it to Chicago. Okay, I did some research. The van is one foot shorter than the truck, and is probably more comfortable, so I'll go with the van. Plus they charge mileage, so it makes sense to rent it in Chicago.

I'm feeling knocked-down tired, but couldn't nap. I need to get garbage out, but otherwise I think that I'll do homework. I could work on cleaning out my wicker chest, but Mimi is asleep on top of it.

Ow. The shoulder where I had the shots is hurting.

I gathered some of the garbage, but I'm feeling weak and shaky, so I'm going to get the rest in the morning.
