Getting Good at Getting Older
Feb. 3rd, 2023 10:15 pmI need to find time to call Comcast. It says that I owe over $500--which I shouldn't owe--but when I clicked payment, it said that I owe nothing. Huh?
I bought a book called Getting Good at Getting Older. It has a chapter about dealing with your elderly parents. I hope that it has good tips. I also got another book about dealing with older parents.
Now I'm leaning towards staying home tonight, calling Comcast, and doing my tidying up.
I made an appointment at the vet for the girls. I made a last-minute decision to use the vet that a colleague (who is a cat person) uses. And I contacted my old vet to send their medical records.
In class, we discussed another programming language, C, that I really liked. I want to learn more about it in my copious lack of spare time.
My large order from Aldi was delivered. The delivery guy was kind of a cool guy whom I think was gay?
I bought some cat food that has fish from mercury-tested fish. The girls seem to like it!
I spent some time couch shopping online. It looks like to get a couch that will last, I need to order from Pottery Barn or equivalent and spend a pot of money. I'd prefer a slipcovered couch because cats, and PB has one that looks fairly decent. (And yes, I looked at Overstock, Ikea and Ashley, and all the reviews say that they're nice to begin with but fall apart quickly. And there are a lot of sofas that I just plain don't like. And Mom doesn't want me to get a leather one because she's going to sleep on it.) Okay, I found a list online of furniture manufactures with quality furniture. I found a couch from Simplicity Furniture that I like. But if I get a slipcover, that's an extra $800.
I've got an appointment at an Xfinity store tomorrow to get my bill straightened out. I'm annoyed that I have to go there in person to fix the problem, but they don't seem to have customer service numbers anymore.
I think that I should just go to bed and get up early. I'm not accomplishing anything.
