Some Progress on the Home Front
Mar. 25th, 2023 12:56 amI forgot to mention that Mom had a really nice nurse's aide who cut up Mom's food for her, and Mom ate all her chicken! She had been picking at her food up to this point.
A guy came to fix the garage door. I accidentally pulled the cord to disengage the door from the motor. The guy showed me how to fix it should I ever do it again, but he said that the garage door is rotting and needs to be replaced, and we'd have to clean out the garage in order for him to do it. Sigh. Mom will not be happy about this.
I'm feeling massively depressed.
I paid the deposit to get the railings on the front stairs and inside stairs done. They'll start when I get back from Illinois.
My professor thinks that the project that I want to do for the independent study course this summer, writing an Android app to use to create a productivity time log, might be a good project. And that would work well for me because I would have more control over my time. But I need to survive this semester first.
Went to see Mom. She was complaining that everyone says that everything is okay, but she's not okay. She wants to talk to God, but she can't reach him. Etc. I did get pictures of her driver's license so that I can access the IRS' site with correspondence with her because she said that she got a letter from the IRS. Her papers are all over the place though, so who knows where it is if she did indeed get it. There are weeks of organizing to do here to be able to find stuff.
I tried to take a nap, but my mind was racing about what we're going to do if Mom can't be home alone. The doctor thinks that part of her confusion is due to kidney problems, but it remains to be seen if that's the only thing going on. Right now, she's very confused and not interested in the details of everyday life (including the new railings for the stairs, so I had to make an executive decision on them).
So I got up and did some research on a topic for my final project for my math (algorithms) class. I think that I found something. Now it's bed time. I have a ton of stuff to do tomorrow, so I don't want to sleep late.
