Financial Advisors and Funeral Mass
May. 2nd, 2023 12:02 amMy meeting with Hantz went better this time. They answered my questions and said that they would send me a list of the tasks that they were proposing to do. They also connected me with a real estate agent who is going to come to the house to discuss what needs to be done to it to sell. They seem to have a horror of leaving cash in the trust though; my dad says that's probably because they get a cut.
I have a meeting scheduled with another set of financial advisors on Wednesday.
Mom's priest friend called and said that the church wants to set the Funeral Mass for May 26th. This works for us because my mom's friend Kate said that early or late that week works for her. I looked for a direct line to the pastor and didn't see one, so I sent him an email. If he doesn't respond in the morning, I'll call the main line.
One of these days, it'll stop raining so that I can get the grass cut. But it's supposed to SNOW tomorrow. Yikes. I hope that it's just a light dusting.
People seemed to like my obituary for Mom (with the exceptions that were noted on LJ--thanks). I'm going to update it and send it to my dad. Hopefully we'll get it done and dusted this week.
I took a nap and woke up at 11 PM local time. I need to get more lawn waste bags, but it's raining and I'm groggy, so I'll go over lunch. Nothing new from the pond guy, so I'll need to nudge him.
Shit, I need to get the garbage out (done, though my neighbors probably didn't like my rolling the cans out at midnight).
Damned if I know when I'll be able to clean the bathrooms, but I don't think that I could hire someone just to clean the bathrooms, plus there's a lot of stuff in them. Hmm. Maybe I should just concentrate on corraling the stuff to get someone in here to clean.
