Cleaning Day

I did my usual morning routine with myself and the cats and went upstairs for a nap. Mimi was already upstairs, complaining to me that I was too slow. And she complained when I stopped petting her. I only live here :)

I decided not to get a key cut but to give the one from the breezeway to the pet sitter. I'll get more keys cut when I get back. This will give me more time to clean.

Had my Italian lesson. I need to study harder because I'm going to Italy. I need to dig up my flashcards.

I'm chipping away at cleaning and waiting for the pet sitter. I want to wait to feed the cats until after she leaves, but the cats do not approve. I gave up and fed them. For creatures without a common vocabulary, they sure make their wishes known! Well, I vacuumed most of the downstairs, but I couldn't reach the outlet in the living room because there's stuff in front of it. I'll have to move the stuff to vacuum.

The pet sitter has come and gone. I almost forgot to give her the key, but I caught her before she left. Now I think that I'm going to eat dinner and take a nap.

Hmm, an eight-foot gazebo with floor and screens and electrical costs a little more then $5000. That could be doable.

I bought a book of Rebecca Brown's short stories. She's my favorite lesbian writer. I also have a book of her essays, You Tell the Stories that You Need to Believe, which I'm going to take to New Buffalo with me.

It's going to be kind of chilly tomorrow in New Buffalo with a high of 70F. I'm glad that I checked. It's going to hit the 80s later in the week.

I was going to say that the cats say that life is what happens between feeding times, but I think that they say that life IS feeding times. The rest is trivial.

Mom always said that she couldn't get anything done after dark. Maybe it's the house because I keep wiping out early. I'm going to start a load of laundry and get up early to clean.
