Travel Day

Someone on a local CU plant group said that yes, I can take cuttings off of Mom’s rose bushes, so I’m going to drop the computers off at the house, and go look for cutters and a shovel for the hosta (done). I’m meeting Donovan at noon.

Donovan came and made quick work getting the junk into the dumpster. I took cuttings from my Mom’s rose bushes (they fought back), the Rose of Sharon, a hydrangea, and the Japanese Maple. I dug up part of a hosta and a thing with silver leaves. I need to get some rooting mixture.

Now I’m resting for a moment and will go get lunch. Oh, the upstairs bathroom is working after all, which helps :)

I'm back in Urbana, with Mimi climbing on me. I was looking for a pair of shoes that I accidentally sent to my mom's house, but they turned out to be in the one closet in which I didn't look. Then the elevator was out at the storage place. I found a circuitous route to my space from the other elevator. Loaded the car up. Found that there was a little more room, but didn't want to take the circuitous route back to my space, so I just left. As soon as I got on I-75, I had a taste for a Waffle House waffle. It took a couple of tries, but I got one.

I need to get up early to get the plants out of the car.

Post-Travel Hammered Day

I'm hammered this morning. I couldn't fall asleep until 3 AM and got up at 7:30. I had a nice nap at lunchtime though.

I arrived back with less than $20 in my pocket until I get paid. That trip was expensive, most notably getting the battery replaced. That "free" car is getting expensive, but it's cheaper than getting a new car. (It's older than my car but is in better shape. It's a Honda, so it should run forever.)

Hmm. Facebook has a gadget that inflates tires to a preset amount. I want to get it when I get paid so that I can inflate the tires on my mom's car. Oh, Amazon has it so I can wait until I get the money from the trust.

I was thinking on the way back that it was a good thing that I didn’t have a child to embarrass. First, I was chanting, “I want a waffle.” Then I was singing along to Bonnie Raitt at the top of my lungs 🙂 Traveling solo has its benefits.

I put up my Ravello and Positano pictures up upstairs. Going there has been a dream for 30 years. I want to wander the gardens at Ravello and see the blue ocean.

I want to sit at a cafe in Positano and slip limoncello.

I hope next year, but we’ll see when my mom’s house sells.

Planted the tiny hosta from my mom’s house. It doesn’t look too happy, but I gave it a good soaking.

Did some work for work. I'm running out of steam, so I think that I'll go to bed early and get up early to study Italian and do some organizing work.
