Day 7: Dominica
Nov. 14th, 2024 07:39 pmWhy, oh why, does O'Hare not have nap pods? I guess that I'll try the Hotel 6 nearby.
Ow. I shut the bathroom door on my thumb. I am such a klutz. I’m drinking the Diet Coke that I was hoarding to settle my stomach, which doesn’t like me injuring myself. I can go upstairs and get another one though.
Got to sleep on time and woke up with my alarm. I think that I have caught up on my sleep. But tomorrow I don't need to set an alarm because it's an "at sea" day!
Back from Dominica. It reminds me of Hawaii as of 50 years ago. I finally got some exercise going up and down stairs and walking.
I was looking into some luggage storage in case I need to overnight at O'Hare. Apparently, the Hilton will do it for $10/day.
Now Celebrity is saying that I need to leave at 7:30 on Saturday! Ack! It sounds like we don’t get breakfast. I think that I’ll smuggle some sweet rolls downstairs tomorrow to have something in my stomach on Saturday. (Now I received a message that I can leave "anytime" as long as I'm out of my stateroom by 8 AM.)
Overslept my nap. Had dinner.
We're getting a steady stream of messages from the cruise line about departing the ship. I'm visualizing a giant boot kicking us off the ship. We need to have our suitcases ready by 10 PM tomorrow if we want them to wrangle the suitcases off of the ship.
I'm looking at cruises to Bermuda. I found one that I like, but it's freaking expensive. Otherwise, I'd have to go on one of the "party lines". This isn't bad.
