Small Towns

My definition of "small town" keeps changing. Lincoln has roughly 15,000 residents, which is by far the smallest town that I've ever lived in. (The next smallest towns that I lived in were slightly over 100,000.) Today, I gave a presentation at a high school that has dual-enrollment college classes in a town of around 3000. The high school, middle, school, and grade school all were in the same building, but with separate entrances. On the way there, I drove through a pretty little village of around 300 residents. I guess Lincoln isn't really that small after all.

I saw a job ad for a librarian at Mount Holyoke College, which is in a small town in Massachusetts that is around the same size as Lincoln. Pretty town and a good school, but now is not a good time to change jobs and move, especially out of state. The job tempted me a little though.
