Cold, Cats, and Calculus

Winter has arrived. Today it was snowing for hours. Despite the long time snowing, we only got one inch of snow, and it didn't stick to the sidewalks. I'll take that. However, the roads were slushy, and now the temperature is dropping. The parking lot is a lake of ice. The high temperature tomorrow is supposed to be 15 degrees F. I am NOT going anywhere tomorrow!
I've worked two times at the Humane Society. I work one morning (which changes) during the week, and on late Saturday afternoons (fixed). The morning stint is about two hours long, and the Saturday afternoon stint is only around a half-hour because all we do is clean the litter boxes, sweep, and feed the cats if they don't have enough food already. One cat, Mimi, seems to have adopted me; she follows me around and gives me kisses. She was acting like she wanted me to pick her up, although I didn't try. Here's the lovely Mimi:

(The picture doesn't do her justice. She has beautiful eyes.) A small, cute Yorkie dog has joined the shelter. He is really cute and friendly, but he yaps. I think that I like larger dogs better.
I'm getting interested in some online economics classes, and specifically, behavioral economics the most. Behavioral economics is a mix of economics and psychology, and covers how people make decisions. I'm also interested in reviewing math because a couple of social science and econ classes require some knowledge of calculus, so I'm planning to start with algebra and work up. If I could take calculus in the fall, that would be great. I'd like to take it sooner, but realistically, I'll be lucky to work through one review book a month. (I'm also going to check out the videos on Khan Academy.)
So I'm keeping out of trouble. Classes start at the college for which I work next week.
