A weakness for whiskers

I just spent a couple of hours looking at pictures of adoptable cats again. Why do I do that when I know that I can't adopt another cat right now? There are two pics that really got to me: the stray that Zhaneel found and a pet rescue cat named Lily. I'm not sure why those two in particular got to me.

It would be really nice to know exactly when the reconstruction work in my condo will happen so that I can plan. They're supposed to finish the set of buildings that I'm in by the end of April, so the window in which they can work is getting shorter and shorter. I know that the work will be very traumatic for Random (first I move stuff around, then I board him, and when he returns, the place smells like other people), so I bought a cat psychology book to see if there are any ways to make the whole process easier on him. And yes, I know that introducing another cat into the mix would be a nightmare.

The hardest part for me will be having to get out of the house by 8 AM-;)

...And I'll have to board Random for two weeks, which is substantially longer than I've ever boarded him. (Generally I have a pet sitter come in.) Expensive too.
