Bipolar group
May. 14th, 2002 11:43 pmWell, I'm back in the bipolar group after a couple of months off. I originally planned to skip this session because of my deadline, but when I wasn't able to get the information that I needed to work on tonight, I figured that I might as well go.
I'm never quite sure how useful these things are. The therapist who moderates the group thinks that I should take time off of work until I stabilize again. I explained to her that 1) I already took 5 months off last fall and winter to do exactly that, and 2) there's no way that I could get time off of work right now. I feel like I'm caught in an infinite loop.
Other members of the group explained to me how to get on long-term disability. Well, they were trying to help. It was nice to have a group of people trying to solve my problems, even if we didn't really solve any.
A bit of good news: Random seems to be accepting Harlee. He now lies and sleeps in front of the door, waiting for her to come over and visit. I've heard her come out and visit with him a few times. The only thing is that he now doesn't want to go into "her" room, but at least he respects her space.
Now I just need to figure out a way to get Harlee on the road to accepting me.
