Yeah, it's going to be a mess. I sent a message to the vet to see if the rest of my critters need to be tested. And I sent a message to my doctor about me being tested (although I'm kind of between doctors, which makes this difficult).
I canceled everything, but a lot of it was non-refundable.
I'm so sorry - did you have trip insurance? Sometimes you can get costs back through trip insurance, it will refund costs in case of illness or emergency.
According to Allianz Global Assistance, a travel insurance provider, "Trip cancellations and trip interruptions due to known, foreseeable, or expected events, epidemics, or fear of travel are generally not covered."
Doesn't mention an unforeseeable dog illness that is highly contagious. It's worth checking, I think? Worse case scenario? They say no.
Thought about it? And Giardia is an unforeseeable and highly contagious dog illness that makes it impossible for you to take alternative measures, such as a pet sitter, boarding or putting the dog with a vet clinic. And may have affected other pets. So, that might help?
