The reconstruction exercise program
Aug. 24th, 2002 07:44 pmThe reconstruction exercise program:
Strength training:
1. Pick up a plant in a clay pot that ranges from 8 inches to 14 inches in diameter
2. Carry it downstairs to the garage.
3. Repeat 19 times.
Aerobics:
1. Fill a one gallon watering can upstairs (in the kitchen).
2. Go downstairs to water the plants.
3. Go back upstairs to fill the can.
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until all the plants are watered.
I might have gotten enough exercise to compensate for eating breakfast out a couple of days this week.
Anyway, the construction workers have resurfaced my deck, and it looks terrific. Yes, I did manage to leave by 8 AM (or close to) every morning. All I have to do now is put the plants back on Monday.
I also took the car into the dealer to have them look at it. They found three (!) oil leaks, and gave me an estimate of around $535. That's doable. I'm going to bring the car back in on Tuesday to have the work done. It'll be nice to have everything fixed.
Random, Harlee, and Nima just had a really good visit until Random got agitated. I'll keep doing the supervised visits.

Date: 2002-08-24 11:49 pm (UTC)I hope things keep improving with your kitties. Our kitties seem to be getting along ok with the older cats now. We keep things loose, trying to get the kitties used to different people and places, with Meredith mostly having Dukie and taking either GM or Rocki for several days at a time, and me keeping Piglet, and mostly Rocki or Rocki and GM. There's still a bit of hissing from (my) Twit or (Meredith's) Littleone, but it's manageable, and we can pretty much leave them to work it out knowing no blood is going to be shed ;)

Date: 2002-08-25 01:40 am (UTC)I don't understand Random. At first when Nima came up to him, he licked the top of her head. Later, he hissed at her. And even later still, he looked a little like he wanted to go after her (but didn't). Nima seemed nervous and walked back into "her" room, so I decided to end the visit.

Date: 2002-08-25 12:52 pm (UTC)We've pretty much just thrown the kids in with the grouchy old ladies, and everyone is learning to cope. There was only one incident that drew blood (Dukey got a scratch on his nose from Littleone) but that was early on in the game. As I said, we have a few hisses and swipes, but usually everyone seems to gravitate to the same area at the same time for some reason, so there're lots of opportunities for interaction. When Twit gets too pissy, I say something to her, and she stalks off, only to return fairly quickly ;)
