More first impressions
Nov. 11th, 2002 11:08 pmKatz's deli was awesome. Even though it calls itself a deli, it's a restaurant and bar. I could happily eat my way through their menu, and the food was incredible. So was the service: a Diet Coke magically appeared when I was just about to ask for another one. I'll definitely go back.
Austin seems to have a fair amount of night life even during the week. I saw another late night restaurant when I was walking from my hotel to a convenience store. Of course, the clubs are open late. There was a number of people walking around at around midnight.
I guess I'm jolted because I expected Austin to have a little of the look and feel of New Orleans, and it's very different. I'm having a really tough time putting my impressions into words.
