Expedia is tripping out

Got the following error message when I was looking for a hotel in Portland:

We cannot find a location matching 'Portland (and vicinity), Oregon, United States of America'. Please verify this information and try again.

Yeah, right-;) I guess this means that I should go to sleep.

Whoops--Forgot Madison

I forgot Madison in my travel plans. It's also a short hop from Chicago, so I could tag it onto my next Chicago trip as well. Even better, I could take the train to Madison (but not to Cedar Rapids).

Or I believe I could fly to both places from Chicago. Addendum: Yes, I can fly to Madison from O'Hare. Both American and United fly there. It costs $138 if you book on the web in a couple of weeks in advance. It's a half-hour flight. American and United also fly to Cedar Rapids; the flight is an hour; it costs $151.

The real challenge will be getting out of Chicago to visit these places. Maybe if I explain that I'm considering moving closer to Chicago, my relatives will let me go-;)

Laundry and work

Nothing exciting, but necessary. It looks like I'll have to put the book on which I'm working out for review when I get back. (I hoped to have it out before I left for efficiency's sake, but it didn't work that way.) At least I can have it ready to roll as soon as I get back.

Mom, I won't need to print it tonight, but I'll call you anyway.

Portland hotels

Yikes, hotels in downtown Portland are expensive! I suppose that's not too surprising.

The Days Inn Portland City Center is quasi-reasonable. (This is a note to myself.) Now I just need to find out what my schedule will be like.
