Like deja vu all over again?
Nov. 12th, 2001 11:30 amI'm sure that you all have heard by now about the plane crash in New York. My mom and I wound up changing our plans to watch CNN, although we're still going out to dinner and a movie later.
The plane barely made it off the ground. It reminds me a lot of another American Airlines crash that happened in Chicago in 1979. That plane crashed minutes away from where my dad worked in United Airlines data processing center, and he saw the fireball.
However, no matter the cause, we're completely dependent on air travel. We have no choice but to use it.

Well, it was a rather strange birthday. We did go out to eat, but I asked to postpone the movie because I was feeling really drained. (Still am; I'm just waiting until my laundry is done to go to sleep. While I still plan to fly back on Sunday, I'm feeling a bit more vulnerable than I normally do. (Yes, I do know the stats. I still feel somewhat vulnerable.)
Found a good article about causes of and accidents from engine failure: Jetliner crash appears accidental
My mom and I are heading out to Columbus tomorrow. I probably won't be logging on until tomorrow night.
