Today, I went to see Sarah Duke Gardens in Durham. The garden is associated with Duke University, and was planted by the widow of one of the University's founders. It has a rose garden, an oriental garden, a terraced garden, a gazebo covered with wisteria, and extremely friendly ducks. (Unfortunately, I bumped a camera setting, and all of the pictures were out of focus. That's really frustrating because there were a lot of beautiful views. I'm planning to go back and take the pictures again.) It rained, but it was kind of fun walking around in the rain.

I also did a quick walk around a few buildings of Duke University. The architecture is Gothic, all stone and spires, and all the buildings match.

Then I went to downtown Durham and followed a walk in one of my books. I was disappointed; there wasn't that much to see, a bookstore that the guidebook mentioned seems to have closed, and there was nowhere to eat. The area seems depressed; there were a lot of empty stores.

Then I came home and devoured pizza; I hadn't eaten for about six hours. I'm probably going to go to sleep early and try to get up early to re-take the pictures.
