We delivered the book that we were working on for review, and now I'm on vacation for a week.
Apparently I over did it (working a lot of the weekend and then a long day on Monday), and I seem to have a dandy case of eyestrain. I'm going to try to stay off the computer a lot for a while (and curse people with white Web pages when I am on -;)) No computer? But...but...what will I do with myself?
Go back to sleep, probably.
Unfortunately, I'm going to miss Dale Carnegie today though. I'm not well-prepared for my speech and haven't done the readings, plus I didn't sleep well. So I've made an executive decision to skip it this time (and work ahead over this week so that I don't get caught out again).
Instead I'll go back to sleep.
I'm seriously mulling over studying the violin. I recently learned that my grandfather played the violin, which got me intrigued. I've been listening to recordings of the violin, and really like the sound of it; in some ways, it suits me better than the guitar. (However, I'm not planning to drop the guitar at this time.) I found a decent violin that I like online, but I'm holding off getting it until I think things through. The question, of course, is what activity am I willing to drop to make room for it and am I willing to put in the practice time? (Sheesh...it's like getting married -;)) I might talk to my Alexander Technique teacher about it; she plays piano and violin. She's always trying new things, so I bet she'd encourage me. (It would be great if she could take me as a student, but her focus is on Irish Fiddle rather that classical violin. Of course, at the rank beginner level, the distinction is moot.)
Nap time. I'll probably be online more often now that I have free time...after my eyes settle down, anyway.
