Sleepless night
May. 2nd, 2004 05:49 amUnfortunately, I only got my groove on for organizing at the tail end of my vacation. I did have a brainstorm though. My living room/dining area/kitchen has vaulted ceilings, but has a ledge running along the sides at the height of a normal ceiling. It occurred to me that those ledges could be a bookshelf. I filled up one shelf (which contains the books from one normal bookshelf). It looks pretty cool. (Maybe I'll post a picture sometime.)
And then I went back to work.
Speaking of getting my groove on, Dale Carnegie is going much better, and I had some nice talks with people.
My great-aunt died on Monday. We weren't close enough for me to fly out, but it's adding to the gloom of this week.
And then I had a major, major fight with a friend. I've been having trouble sleeping ever since then. I even took my meds, which normally knock me out within a half-hour, but still can't sleep. (My next step is to try and do some work for work. If that doesn't knock me out, nothing will.)
Today, I had planned to go to Palo Alto to see my Alexander Technique teacher sing in a Gilbert and Sullivan play. However, I don't feel that I can drive there on no sleep. Oh well. At least I'll have more time to read the book for my reading group and do stuff around here.
