Mom arrived yesterday. Today, we went up to the City for my voice lesson. Mom enjoyed the train ride up to the City and sitting in on my voice lesson.

We spent some time reminiscing about trips that we took when I was a kid, especially one trip during which my dad was driving in bluffs near the Mississippi River and got stuck in the mud. (Mom, with some disgust: "There were frogs in the mud!") Mud notwithstanding, I now have a yen to load a guitar, the Casio keyboard, and my laptop--you know, the necessities of life--into the car and take a roadtrip somewhere. It doesn't have to be far. Santa Cruz or Capitola, or the City would be okay. I'd want to go somewhere with a good desk to work on and interesting places to walk to. Maybe I could go over Christmas weekend.

Anyway, here's our plans so far:

Sunday

Rest. Assemble computer desk. Stick close to home.

Monday

No plans so far

Tuesday

See Tosca at Opera San Jose. No, I'm not kidding.

(Cordoba guitar arrives.)

Wednesday
Go to my guitar lesson. Maybe stop at Tower Records?

(Yamaha guitar arrives.)

Thursday

Thanksgiving dinner at Marie Callender's

Friday

No plans so far

Saturday

Christmas concert by the San Jose Symphonic Choir

Sunday

No plans so far

Monday

No plans so far

Tuesday

Mom leaves. It's the last day of my vacation.

Mom also wants to go to the Tech museum, and I'd like to go to the Hakone Gardens. We also want to exchange Christmas presents sometime (assuming that they all arrive.)
