Beware of armchair travelers

I haven't been feeling like updating--too busy, too drained--but I don't want my mom to worry, so I'll write something. We had been busy getting a book out for review (with some overtime, etc.). However, I had a problem over several days with a toothache that was also triggering sinus problems. I already had a dentist's appointment scheduled, and I didn't think that they'd be able to move it earlier. They probably would have given me painkillers had I asked, but any painkiller worth the name would also zonk me out, and I needed to be awake to work on the book. So I toughed it out. We delivered the book. The tooth is now taken care of (and I'm on antibiotics). Still having some sinus problems--one of my singing exercises reliably makes my nose run. Attractive, that -;)

I've gotten behind on everything that I'm trying to do outside of work, so I'm trying to catch up.

On the up side, I've bought tickets to see John Williams (a famous classical guitarist) in April and for the opera Carmen in February.

I've been investigating a possible trip to New Zealand sometime in the future. It won't happen soon. (If it happens at all--there's a chance that they might not give me a visa because of my health problems. Depressing, that.) But it's fun to read and imagine.
