Yes, I'm still here and still plugging along. The big news is that I graduated with my Master's Degree in Library and Information Science in August. I'm done! I'm free! Well, sort of free because I want to take some extra classes at WSU, but they wouldn't accept me for the post-grad certificate until I had officially graduated, which took place after Fall classes started but was back-dated to August.

Of course, I'm looking for full-time work. The job market seems to be picking up slightly, which is good. I've seen a few jobs that require reading knowledge of another language, so I'm reviewing my French. I also want to create an online portfolio on my old Web site and start a professional blog. I was feeling overwhelmed by all the stuff that I want to get done with little time structure (the advantage to school is that they hand you a to-do list), so I wrote a long list of things to do. It seems to be helping; I'm accomplishing more since I wrote it. My illness makes me less motivated to do things, and my medicine is sedating, so I can use all the help that I can get.

Speaking of things to do, I did an independent research study this summer, and my advisor loved it and said that with some extra work, it could get into a top journal. So I need to do the extra work.

And speaking of extra work, the other Library Assistant at my job gave notice, so I'm going to have to work almost full-time until we hire someone. I also will have to train the new hire. It's going to be hectic, but I should be able to put some money away.

On 9/11, AlexPGP posted a link to his 9/11/01 entries. I went back and read my 9/11/01 entries, and wound up reading two years worth of entries. I learned a lot from reading them, and I probably will regret not having entries about the past couple of years. Maybe now that I've graduated, I'll have a little more time to update LJ.

And finally, I promised pictures of Zara way back when. She had a rocky time settling in and destroyed some of my mom's things, but she seems to be settling down now. She still is playful though. She likes to hide under a table with a tablecloth in the hall and pounce at us when we walk by. She also has some feathers on a stick that she plays with and carries around with her. Harlee is fine. She is a "chair potato" in the TV room most of the time. She still is very demanding that I pet her. Often.
