The Calm Between Trips
Jun. 12th, 2012 03:11 pm(I originally typed "The Clam Between Trips". That would've been a more interesting title.)
We got back Sunday night. We both agree that it's good to be home. My mom, especially, was anxious to get out of Chicago.
Before I left, I was tearing the place apart looking for a bag of stuff that I planned to take with me. Eventually I gave up and ran out to replace the contents. I found it yesterday in the cat food stash. It had nothing to do with cat food. I guess I mistook it for the cat food that I left for the pet sitter, but I left that food out on the counter. I'm losing it -;)
Speaking of cats, Harlee doesn't want to get me out of her sight. Even Zara made a sound that she usually makes when I give her wet food when I saw her. They're going to be disappointed because I go to the library conference a week from Thursday. I'm supposed to bring Zara to the vet for a blood test, but it's not urgent, so I might wait until I get back.
I attended an all-hands meeting at work yesterday, but I'm off for the rest of the week. My plan is to do things related to leaving for the conference (get my hearing aids adjusted, find my business cards, update my portfolio, print off some resumes, buy new toiletries, plan which sessions I'm attending, study some background information for some of the sessions, etc.), register for some classes, and respond to some job ads. I'll probably do most of my packing next Monday because I work Tuesday and Wednesday, and my flight is at noon on Thursday.
Edited to add: Oh yeah, I need to get my hair cut! Must make a list....
