Zzzzzzz.....
Mar. 2nd, 2013 07:46 pmYes, I am alive. Work plus school (plus possible aftereffects of the surgery? It's been slightly over a month) is beating me down. Tuesday night, I planned to take a short nap after work, and woke up at 8:00 the next morning. Last night, I planned to finish my homework, but decided that I was too tired, and slept until 3 PM with a short break for breakfast. Damn. Now I need to catch up on my homework. Spring Break is the week after next. I can't wait, although I will have some homework to catch up on even then. Can't wait until the semester is over....
Part of the reason what I've been sleeping so much is that I got a new mattress. It's a pillow-top, and it is wonderful. My mom told me that she bought a synthetic down pillow at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. She's sending me a coupon, and I'm planning to get one. I'll have a cozy little nest.
And speaking of the surgery, I bent down to pick something up off of the floor last weekend, and the area where my gall bladder used to be really, really hurt. I've still been feeling occasional twinges at odd moments. I suppose that I should call the doctor, but I'm kind of tired of dealing with doctors. Speaking of which, I finally found a primary care physician--and I have an appointment in April. Apparently Springfield is NOT the place to be if you're looking for health care.
My cozy little nest (my apartment) needs a lot of work, but I've been crazy busy. I'd like to get the place together and then start meeting people in Springfield, but I might just wait until school's over. I'm not going to take classes at Wayne State this summer, but want to take an XML class remotely at Foothill (which reminds me, I need to keep track of the registration time because last year, I was wait-listed).
I also went to a goodbye party last week for one of the librarians and wound up staying until midnight. Sad to see her go, but it was a fun party.
I might be getting a chance to be an architect for digital collections at work. That's good because I'm getting somewhat frustrated with the job. I've been spending about 75 percent of my time generating statistics, which is not at all what I thought the job would entail. We'll see what happens....
