Games that You Can Play with Bubble Wrap

The apartment looks like a disaster area with packed boxes, stuff in the process of being packed, and stuff that I am in the process of giving away to people. I also have people coming over to pick up stuff that I'm giving away on Freecycle, so it's a zoo around here. (One nice lady said, "I understand that you're moving, so do you want some boxes?" I said, "Yes," so I scored a couple more boxes.)

We've had some moments of levity though. There was a tall, empty box next to Zara's cat tree. Zara, for whom foresight is not a strong suit, jumped into the box. Then she realized that she wasn't sure how to get out of the box. She was frantically reaching up the side of the box with a panicked look on her face. Mean Mommy and Mean Grandma were laughing at her. She eventually was able to jump out of the box. We were impressed.

Harlee has been through a few moves. I don't know if she remembers what moving boxes mean, but we are deconstructing her world, and she is Not Pleased, and is letting us know that at great length. (Zara, on the other hand, likes the boxes.)

My mom is the Bubble Wrap Queen. She's wrapping everything that doesn't move in bubble wrap. She said," I love bubble wrap." I said, "We all have our fetishes." She said, "Yeah, you could wrap your lover in bubble wrap and then pop the bubbles" (assuming that one had a lover).

There were some t-shirts from New Orleans and Epcot that I dearly love, but haven't been able to find since I moved down here. While I was packing clothes, I discovered them under some clothes that I don't wear very often, so I am very happy. They're going to Michigan in my suitcase.

I'm taking a small, fine selection of dirty underwear with me to Michigan. Talk about wishful thinking -;)
