I think that I'm going to grow most of my plants in
Grow Bags. You can't get cheaper containers, and most of the reviews say that they got better results with the bags than traditional pots. You can also buy a self-watering tray for them, which is great for me because I don't have a ton of time during the week to care for the plants. They also sell a "
terrace kit" for the bags, which I like and isn't too expensive, but the reviews say that it's difficult to assemble. Any other ideas what I could substitute instead? They do have a
A-Frame Plant Stand, which also has the advantage of being able to fold it and bring it inside during the winter. Maybe I could get two of them and run boards across to have more room for plants? Or maybe
this one? Actually, a plant stand might be a good use for bricks and boards.
My book and some Web sites convinced me to try growing blueberries, so I'm going to try a couple. I also want to grow raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries for summer salads. (The blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries will need pots though because they'll winter-over outside.)
It's annoying because I don't feel well enough to do much of anything, but am having problems sleeping (because it's sunny?) So I'm going to order my garden supplies.
