Not Spring Yet
Mar. 16th, 2014 04:33 pmIt's 27 degrees F out (I put the hyacinth in the basement), overcast, and very windy, so I made an executive decision not to go out to get the Sunday paper for coupons today. (I still am not getting the paper delivered, and I subscribed a month ago, so I need to find out what's going on.) I slept for 14 hours (must have needed it), and am still feeling shaky and headachy, so I think that I've made the right decision.
I have plenty of stuff to do here, most notably homework and cleaning and organizing my wreck of a kitchen. I also need to soak the berry plants so that I can plant them tomorrow.
The girls have gotten some cuddle time with me, so they're happy. They crack me up. I was sitting on the futon last night, talking on the phone to my mom, and Harlee was snuggled next to me. Harlee went away, and I stretched out on the futon. She came back, and was circling the futon complaining. I moved my legs, and told her that she could jump on next to me, but no, she was circling and complaining until I sat up. Then she jumped up and snuggled with me again. Whenever I turn my back to leave the bedroom, Zara has been rushing up and tagging my ankles. I tell her that yes, she is a mighty huntress.
