...And Now It's Summer
May. 7th, 2014 10:09 pmIt got up to 87 degrees F today. When I went out to lunch, there was a big storm cloud directly above me, and I thought, "I don't like the looks of that." So I walked back to my car to grab my umbrella, and right before I got to my car, it started raining hard. By the time that lunch was over, it was sunny again.
During the winter, I thought that it was great that my townhouse held the heat so well. Now I'm discovering...it holds the heat too well. I'm sweltering and have the A/C on. (I open the windows only a crack so that kitties don't go flying out of them. Harlee's probably sensible enough not to do that, but Zara? Not so much.) What happened to Spring?
It's supposed to rain tomorrow night, Friday, and Sunday. It's supposed to be sunny on Saturday, which is Commencement at the college for which I work. I hope that it won't be sweltering, but it also is going to be indoors.
I love the daypack that I bought. I'm also getting a lot of the other camping gear that I bought, which is fun. I need to get lithium batteries for the headlamp and the GPS. I want to keep them (and my rain poncho) in the daypack so that I can just grab it when the spirit moves me to hike.
I have homework to finish, but I'm exhausted, so I'm just going to sleep (if I can cool off enough. Maybe I should take a cool shower.) If I get up earlier, I can leave work earlier, and come home and finish my homework.
Speaking of work, I was able to make a major modification to an SQL query to obtain a list of people who have books checked out along with their contact information. So my Database class is paying off. I'm so proud of myself -;)
