Home Sweet Home?
Oct. 29th, 2014 01:04 amI finally connected with the apartment manager in Lincoln. I saw the apartment today and liked it. Despite having three bedrooms, I think that it's slightly smaller than my current townhouse (beyond the fact that it doesn't have a basement), but it's cute. And it has a washer and dryer hookup, which pleased me. (I'll need to buy a washer and dryer though; I borrowed them from the apartment management in my current townhouse.) The big downside is that there really isn't much room for plants outside, so I'll have to grow herbs inside and curtail the vegetable growing. Bummer. But I'll save a ton of money by moving. And I'll be able to go home for "lunch" (actually dinner for me). And I could ride a bike to work if I get reacquainted with bike riding. I'm currently filling out an application for it.
Oh, and I ordered a "mini-greenhouse" (metal shelves with a plastic cover) to bring my perennial herbs in. I almost bought a setup with grow lights, but tonight it occurred to me that I won't need grow lights if I put it in a window. (Okay, sometimes I'm slow on the uptake.) The setup that I ordered is much, much cheaper than the grow-light setup. Cheap is good (and besides, the herbs aren't worth that much money).
