Home Is...?
Oct. 25th, 2014 01:38 amWill I or won't I move to Lincoln? That is the question. I found a Web site for a complex of townhouses, and it said that they took pets, so I e-mailed them about their pet policy a couple of weeks ago. No answer. I called them the other day and left a message. No response. I e-mailed them one more time a couple of days ago. No response. I called a few other places and asked about their pet policy. No response. I talked to a property manager yesterday, and made arrangements to see a couple of places today. However, the address that she gave me is a parking lot in Lincoln. I called her today several times, and finally reached her, and the address is in another town. One of the part-timers found a mobile home that is available to rent, but I checked the listing last night and it said, "No pets." Finally, the manager at the first apartment building e-mailed me back. She said that the cats were okay, and to call her if I wanted to see one of the townhouses. I promptly called her back...and left a message. Sigh. I think that I'll e-mail her too and ask her to call me back. Only three-bedroom units are left, but that would be fine. It's still less expensive than the townhouse that I'm renting in BloNo, and I'd save a ton of money on gas. And if I could get a cheap bed, my mom could have her own room when she stays with me instead of fighting Harlee for the futon.
I've been listening to audiobooks in the car on goal-setting, motivation, etc. I've been thinking about goals. I have some short- and mid-range goals, but I don't really have a direction that I'm heading towards. I was thinking about it as I drove home, when it hit me: I want to move to Hawaii. (Well, I should go back there first to see if I still love being there; I haven't been there since I was 17. But it was a place that fed my soul.) I wouldn't move there while my parents are still around. But it's a long-term goal that excites me. I'd have to jettison most of my stuff, even stuff that I moved from California to the Midwest. I'd have to live in a smallish condo (as I did in California). It also begs the question as to what I'd do for a living. So yes, I'd have a lot of details to work out. But it's a goal that excites me. I'm going to put that down as a long-term goal.
I ordered three different goal setting/goal tracking journals from Amazon.com. (I'll decide which one I like the best and return the other two.)
