I ran out of one of my meds this week (the generic version of Ritalin), but the doctor wouldn't let me pick up the new prescription until Friday (I guess that's when they thought that I should be out of the med), so I had withdrawal symptoms last week. I was sleepy and sleeping a ton. Today I took it and feel loads better; I was spontaneously thinking of things that I could get done. It's a little scary, though, how dependent I am on the meds. Also, because it's the beginning of the year, I have to pay my deductible, so the med cost over $100. I have another prescription that needs to be filled, and I'm dreading it because I can't afford to keep paying $100 a pop to get the meds. I might use some old ones even though that they're old.

Yesterday and today were errand-running days. The weather has been gorgeous: sunny and warm. I also get tomorrow off, which is great because I can get more stuff done. I'm taking a free class by Adobe about multimedia for educators, and I love the class. The class covers more than just how to use various tools, but it wants us to think how we could best use multimedia (and creativity) in our classes. I thought that the following talk was very interesting:

However, I'm behind in the class, so I'm trying to catch up. I also need to work on my research project so that I can propose a poster session for the upcoming library conference in June. And I need to sell Younique, and I need to apply for moonlighting work, etc. And unpack. So I was feeling a little stressed....

...When I exchanged a series of text messages with an old friend in Chicago. She lost her mom last Fall (which I knew), but she also is going through a divorce (which I didn't know). Talk about piling stressors on top of stressors. All of my problems, if you can even call them that (well, I am stretched financially), can be solved by hard work. So I'm counting my blessings...and need to get back to work. I also want to see The Imitation Game, but I'm hoping that it will stick around for a couple of weeks so that I can get my research project done first.
