All Hail the Mighty AARP!!

SCORE!! It occurred to me that I should look on AARP's site for flights. I had some reward points saved up (although I don't know how I earned them), so I tried the AARP Rewards site. It didn't have flights, but did have hotels. I found a hotel at less than half the price as the other one that I booked in San Francisco. It isn't as nice a hotel, and it's farther from Moscone Center, but it'll do. And, while I'm in the South Bay, my ex-husband graciously offered a room that he and his wife are going to rent on Airbnb, so the cost of this trip is becoming a lot more reasonable. I feel 10 pounds lighter...and I think that I'll enjoy the trip more if it isn't bankrupting me.

I have my flight, hotel, rental car (for the South Bay), and train (to Reno--I'm visiting my dad in Nevada) reservations. California, here I come...!

I also found out that there is a bus to O'Hare from Normal, so I need to book that (plus a train ride from Lincoln to Normal, which is a little silly, but it'll get me to the bus). I probably will have to overnight in Chicago on the trip back.
