The Spoke of the Wheel
Aug. 9th, 2015 05:15 pmI'm feeling calmer about work. I've got a better handle on what needs to be done. It's still a lot of work, but I'm feeling less overwhelmed. However, I'm giving three presentations next week, plus two more meetings. I'm trying to keep things moving without being too hard on myself. I'm trying to visualize myself as the spoke of the wheel, and not get pulled to one side. However, I haven't talked to my manager since the other librarian announced his departure. My one big fear is that they won't fill the other librarian's position, and I'll be the only librarian. I guess that I'll find out soon enough.
I decided to drop the classes that I'm taking in the interest of sanity. I did do something kind of crazy, though, and joined another direct sales company. It's called Monat, and they sell really terrific hair care. I'm feeling hopeful about it; I haven't even gotten my starter's kit yet, and someone already wants a sample! I'm still working on Younique as well. There are some economies of scale; when I'm setting up social media posts for one company, it's easy to set them up for both. I want to visit salons and give them both the old version of our mascara (it has been improved, but I'm stuck with some old ones) and a hair care sample. One advantage of Monat is that I'm the only rep in the area. I'll have to work harder to educate people about the product, but I won't have direct competition in the area.
Anyway, got to run errands and practice my presentation for tomorrow.
Added: I've been joining a bunch of Facebook network marketing groups, and we merrily roll along selling things to each other. It works :)
