You Deserve a Break Today
Aug. 15th, 2015 11:40 pmLast week was a madhouse. Three presentations (one of them was teaching four classes of students about the library), one meeting with my boss, doing knowledge transfer with the outgoing librarian (and he wasn't volunteering info for the most part; I had to think of questions that I needed to ask him), etc. Plus I needed to work on the data to load into the system (what I would have done this week if the other librarian wasn't leaving). It wasn't all bad--I got permission to buy supplies, which we have needed for a while--but my boss told me that she's worried about me burning out. (And when your boss tells you to slow down, maybe you should slow down.) I'm hoping that things will actually die down after the semester starts on Monday.
So I spent today doing chores at home and working on Younique and Monat stuff. I'm actually glad that I have the distraction of my small businesses because I enjoy working on them. There is going to be a hot-air balloon festival in Lincoln in two weeks, so I ordered some "blitz" cards (basically a postcard with product info) and flyers to hand out at the festival. The idea of handing them out does make me nervous, but I hope that a lot of people there won't be from Lincoln. (The festival does draw from a distance.) I need to package up some Monat samples to send during my lunch hour on Monday.
Tomorrow I will have to do things for work. No way to avoid it. But at least I had a break today. Hmm, now I'm yawning, and I'm trying to get back on a daytime schedule, so maybe I should go to sleep now.
