Hmm. I haven't updated in a while. I've been busy....
The search for the new Library Director is rolling along. We had two phone interviews the week before last. Everyone liked one candidate, and she's coming for an on-site interview next Friday. The only thing is that she wants to fulfill her obligations at her current position, so it might be a while until she starts. I told my boss, though, that I'd rather wait for the right candidate than deal with the wrong one. The other one we were lukewarm about, so we're having another phone interview with another candidate this coming Thursday.
I'm doing okay at being the director for the nonce. I've dusted off my management shoes, and things are rolling along. The part-time workers have really stepped up to help me. Much of my time has gone into setting up a talk by a local expert in Illinois ghosts in October; the person in charge of the auditorium wanted to charge the library for using it, which I didn't think was fair because this is an official library event, but my boss finally got it straightened out.
I'm selling Younique at an event for the Humane Society this coming weekend. It should be fun, and it's for a good cause; I just have to be careful and not come home with a dog! Of course, after I booked the event, someone at the College wanted me to sell Younique at a fund-raiser the evening of the same day, which I declined because I'd fall flat on my face working for 12+ hours. It's good that the word is getting out that I sell Younique though. As for Monat, I love how shiny my hair is getting. I've been sending out lots of samples, but no sales from them yet. One of my colleagues, though, is talking about getting a system for her daughter for Christmas.
My dad will be in town briefly on Monday, and the apartment management is inspecting the apartments on Wednesday, so I've been busy cleaning and organizing. I had a moment of inspiration about how I want to organize my office, so I need to get busy and get it done.
