Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day to those in the U.S.!


I had thought about going to Bloomington to see the new flamingos at the zoo and see fireworks. But I woke up after just a few hours of sleep and had problems going back to sleep, and it's gloomy and looks like it might rain. So I'm going to spend a couple of hours working on the kitchen, and then grab some books and read at a local coffeeshop for a couple of hours. Not exciting, but it works.

Added: I'm trying to figure out when would be the best day to hike, and it looks like next Saturday. It'll be the coolest day of the week, plus there's supposed to be thunderstorms mid-week.

Happy Idiots with Fireworks Day

Someone (intentionally or unintentionally) set off a really LOUD explosion a couple of times now. It made both the cats and me jump, and the first time, it was loud enough for my neighbors to come out and wonder what was going on. I decided to barricade myself stay in tonight with the cats.
