What Makes Me Tick?

One thing that I love about my vacation is that I can change plans midstream. I had planned to go out tonight, but decided that I'd rather stay home. I spent some time reading books about attraction marketing, the basic idea of which is that you want people to come to you to buy things, rather than you chasing them. One book said to figure out what makes you tick, and your ideal customers would "tick" in a similar manner. The "How do I tick?" question is troublesome because really, I have a soul of a blogger, not a makeup salesperson. But I've always loved makeup, and I was asking myself why. I plan to start doing my makeup live on Facebook, but I want to do an introduction talking about why I love makeup first. So I decided to go hiking tomorrow and ponder what makes me tick.

I also started my makeup class, and am posting tips from the class on my Facebook page. Attraction marketing :)

Now if I could only do some attraction marketing on Mimi and Zara. They're both in here, and they were growling at each other until I broke it up. I sound like such a mom, "Mimi, quit looking at Zara!" Etc.

What Makes Me Tick, Revisited

I didn't get up early enough to go hiking. (I wanted to go to a place about an hour away. There are places nearby to hike, but I wonder how deserted they are. It would make me a little nervous to hike in an area with no one else around.)

However, I did get going in time to go to Aldi. I've been looking for a lap desk for a while, so that I can read and take notes in my bedroom or in Harlee's room, and Aldi had them for $6.99 (considerably cheaper than Amazon). So I bought one for each room. Score!

And I did get to the local coffeeshop for a little while. For what it's worth, here are my notes on what makes me tick:

• Comfort (This is the weird one.)

• Used to love to walk

As for makeup, I like it as a way to express individuality, rather than trying to look "better" or like someone else. (Which is a good thing because I don't look like anyone else! I used to be picked on as a child because of my unusual looks.) Doing demos and tutorials about makeup and blogging about makeup is right up my alley.
