Harlee and Food

Harlee is on special food because of her kidney problems. However, she thinks that Mimi and Zara's food is much tastier--and they've been letting her eat it. (I think that it's funny that skinny Harlee is top cat. She has an attitude though; one of her nicknames is "She Who Must Be Obeyed".) So right now, both Mimi and Harlee are eating behind gates, and both are unhappy. I also gave Harlee less wet food because I'm getting tired of throwing it out when it costs $3 a can. If she eats it, I'll give her more.

Sheesh. Like herding cats.

I'm making noise despite trying to be quiet--my neighbors are "early to rise" types--so I'm going to bed. Also, Zara is playing with a prescription bottle that I knocked to the floor, so she needs to settle down too.

Another College Closing

The college at which my boss worked before here is closing. His timing was good. It's a bad time to be a small, liberal arts college like we are. I hope that we don't wind up closing. If anyone can get us into good financial shape, it's the current college president, but it all remains to be seen. Get to work, Adrienne, get to work.

It was cold and damp today too. I thought that it was really cold until I zipped up my jacket instead of wearing it California-style (open). However, the zipper broke. I need to get that zipper and the zipper on my medium-weight jacket fixed on Friday.

I also need to find out what my plans are for Thanksgiving. Will my mom come here, will I go there, or will we both stay home? I can't believe that it's the end of October already.
