My Mom's Angel Was on Her Shoulder
Dec. 26th, 2017 10:41 pmYesterday night, my aunt fell asleep on the couch, and my uncle was shooing us out. We were wondering why he was doing that.
Well, he has a problem with alcohol, and a bottle of brandy was out in the kitchen. My uncle wanted to drink it before my aunt woke up. He did, and fell down twice last night, and the paramedics had to be called to get him up both times. My aunt was furious. We were picking up our presents this morning, and got out of there as quickly as possible.
Mom and I ate breakfast at McDonald's. After we were done, I was throwing out the trash, when my mom said, "Adrie! Do you know where my purse is?" I said, "No." My mom looked in the bathroom, and it was there. Thank goodness.
Mom almost sideswiped three cars on the way down, which cleared out my drowsiness. I kept a lookout for traffic after that, but she was driving better. She was weaving a little near Bloomington, and she said that she needed to pull off and close her eyes for a few minutes, so we stopped at a rest stop just outside of Bloomington. She closed her eyes for 15 minutes. That helped, and we made it home okay.
We were bringing stuff in, and my mom slipped on the stairs and fell. Luckily, she didn't break anything.
I left my mom at home, and went to get the cats. They were glad to be home, but I looked at the receipt and realized that the vet had charged me though tomorrow, which was the original plan. I need to stop by tomorrow to get them to refund the price for the last night.
Mom and I went to dinner and picked up a few things at Walmart. Then we had a long conversation about my aunt and uncle at home.
Mom is now asleep, and the cats are confused because she's sleeping on their futon. I'm going to follow shortly. Both my mom and I have been really tired even though we've been getting enough sleep, and we think that it was because of the tension in my aunt and uncle's house.
