Lazy Morning

I woke up earlier than I intended. Mom was still asleep. I was wondering if I should make breakfast or not because I didn't want to wake Mom up. Well, Harlee decided that Mom had slept long enough, and she jumped on my Mom's chest, meowing. Mom thought that it was funny. (So did I.)

We ate breakfast, and I took a nap with Mimi. I'm waiting for my clothes to finish washing to take a shower. Zara is being manic.

I forgot to mention that the first day at the hotel in Chicago, mom was curling her hair, and I was blow-drying my hair with their hair dryer. The power went out. Mom freaked out because she was going to Mass with my aunt, and we were on a tight schedule. I called down to the front desk, and they fixed it in ten minutes, so we were fine. I never dried my hair after that the whole time that I was there.

Christmas Presents

Harlee has decided that she really likes the soft blankets that my mom has been using on the futon. We'll see if she lets my mom sleep.

We went to the vet to get a refund for the last day of boarding the cats, and they said that they had to get the permission of the office manager to give me a refund. So, no money. Mom loaned me the money.

We went thrifting. I found a couple of blazers, and Mom found a couple of tops and a basket.

Then we went to one of our favorite restaurants, the Blue Dog Inn. We had some delicious hot dogs, and I had pie for dessert.

We came home and opened presents. Mom really liked the DVD of elephants that I gave her, along with a book that she wanted, and a coloring book of elephants. Mom gave me a book that I wanted, a 365-day Zen calendar, and a "self-serving" present of a wine opener.

Then I opened the cats' presents from my mom. The feather toy was a hit, as I knew that it would be. Mimi liked the cat tunnel. The biggest hit, though, was something called a Frolicat Zip. It's a battery-operated disc that has a laser toy on it, and it moves and turns. All three cats were mesmerized by it, even Harlee. Zara is a little over-stimulated and stressy now though.

We're going to make this an early night.
