The Crown had another knockout episode that left me shaken. If you have any interest in it, start with Season 2 and then backtrack to Season 1. I want to get the Season 2 DVDs for Mom when it becomes available in November.
Zara is camping out in the bathtub. It's probably nice and cool in there. I've got the ceiling fan going in the bedroom. Mimi didn't sleep with me last night.
I've decided that I want to learn Spanish. Who knows if I'll like Mexico or not (although it would be nice to know some Spanish when I go there), but it would help me professionally to know Spanish (a lot more than Italian, which is my other language interest). I'm all about improving my credentials right now. I'll work on pronunciation and flash cards right now. Next month, I'll add in Skype lessons. They aren't even that expensive.
While I was falling asleep, I was thinking that I need to learn how to say "I have two cats" in Spanish. (Mimi was lying on my arm.) Eventually, "Yo tengo dos gatos" popped into my head. That's exactly right. I took a year's worth of Spanish in high school, but that was a long, long time ago. I'm amazed.
I've got the Fluent Forever Spanish pronunciation flash cards downloaded onto my phone. I'll spend the next couple of weeks reviewing them.
Took a nap. Ate lunch. Did dishes. Found an interesting investment blog. One of the articles on the blog talked about Arnold Schwarzenegger's biography. It in, he says to do the reps (something that I'm bad at, speaking metaphorically) and to surround yourself with people who are good at what you want to do. That's hard in Lincoln, which sounds snarky, but I mean that my interests are very different from others around here. I'd do better in Chicago. Anyway, I'm going to look for the book at the library.
Decided to throw myself together, walk, and run to the public library and Dollar Tree. Done. Wound up walking in the dark on an uneven sidewalk. I'm amazed that I didn't go sprawling. But I made it through a mile. I get a gold star on my calendar.
Need to do my taxes.
