1/2 Sick Day

Hmm. I might wind up priced out of Eugene as a potential retirement place, but I still want to check it out. I'd probably have to live in a condo. Salem is more affordable (and also closer to Portland for shopping, airport, etc.) And cool--there's a bus from Salem to the Oregon Coast. Not going to take it this trip, but good to have for a place to live.

Did some more investigating of the Oregon trip. I'm still not sure if I'll check out some 55+ communities near Portland or not. I'd need to rent a car though. (See Tampa paragraph.) I don't want to take the train to Eugene on the same day that I fly in though. So I'll probably take an evening flight. Amtrak keeps sending trains and buses to Eugene all day long.

Hmm. When I count the cost of bus tickets to O'Hare and paying to park the car, flying out of Peoria looks better and better.

I thought about going to Tampa, but I need a car in Florida to check out retirement places. There's a shortage of rental cars right now and people are paying $100s a day. So no.

My stomach has been upset all morning, so I took a 1/2 sick day. Don't know what's going on. Slept a long time. Didn't get up in time for piano class. Feeling shaky. Ate something. Now I'm logged onto work to go through email.

Done with work. I'm going to go practice for a while and go back to sleep. Still really tired.
