Mom's garbage can is missing. She told me that she wanted to go get a new one today. Then she fell asleep. After I got myself together, I woke her (which I hated to do) and asked her if she wanted to sleep or get the garbage can. She sleepily said "garbage can," so she got herself together and we went to ACE hardware. We found one that she liked and, miracle of miracles, it fit in my car.

Then we ate lunch. Then Mom called my aunt, who was upset because people weren't doing things in the exact way that she wanted, and my aunt said that she didn't want to talk and hung up.

I decided that we should take a nap. We did, and I overslept. But the twin of my obnoxious alarm arrived, so now I'll get up when I need to. My phone alarm won't cut it.

Mom made Chicken Kiev, mashed potatoes, and asparagus for dinner (with a small bit of help from me). It was quite good. Mom ate a fair amount, I was glad to see.

Then I finished organizing my Italian handouts. I worked on my planning book by pulling oracle cards for next year. There's a building your life theme.

Now I think that it's bedtime. I don't know why I'm so tired. Mom went to bed a little while ago. I don't know how she can sleep with CNN on, but she does.

I'm worried about Mom. She feels awful, and she said that if chemo is worse than this, she doesn't know how she'll get through the winter. I'm wondering if I should work from here. I'd need to bring the cats though.

I'm currently doing laundry. I offered to do Mom's laundry too, but she got cranky and said that she would have to tell me what goes with what. Now she's asleep.

Mom was doing dishes, and she asked, "What are YOU going to do?" So I'm doing her laundry, which counts as doing something but gives me time to relax.

Mom got upset and asked me what I would do if she needed a nursing home or if she passed away. Later, she apologized and said that she was worried about how she's going to cope.

We had ravioli and garlic bread for dinner.

I talked to my aunt for a while. She's over her snit of the other day.

I'm making a lot of progress on my planning book but am burning out.

Mom: I hope that you're going to bed soon. Sheesh, I've gotten up earlier than her most days. Patience.
