Exam Day 1
Feb. 21st, 2024 12:14 amTook my nighttime meds last night, and unpacked some easy boxes (mugs, appliances). I can't find my stoneware thus far, so I looked at new stoneware, but I'd rather use the ones that I have. I might have to bring some of my mom's dishes with me in the meanwhile.
I placed a Walmart delivery order for an extension cord, hangers, and some food.
I figured out a strategy for the boxes. I'll work on them as a break from studying tonight. One issue with the move was that my lateral filing cabinet is falling apart. I need to order a new one before the organizers get here, so I found a metal one on Wayfair that I'd like to get.
The other day, I discovered that there is a small garden bed in front of the house. I'm pondering what to grow there. Maybe a snowball bush or hydrangeas? I found a hydrangea that I really like, but it would be the most expensive one. Now I'm pondering a hydrangea garden. They’re toxic to animals though. The cats are indoors only, but a dog would go outside. Butterfly bushes attract butterflies and hummingbirds and are non-toxic to dogs. I'd like to bring one of my mom's hostas back with me, but I'm not sure where to put it yet. Maybe in the back yard. No, the north side of the house still has snow while it melted in the rest of the yard, so obviously it's shaded and good for hostas.
I think that I'm as ready for this test as I'm going to get. It went fairly well. I hope that we can submit problems for partial credit like before though.
The cost overrun of the painting is leaving me broke until I get the check from the trust (and I get paid again). But the painting was worth it. Living with gray walls would be depressing! The painter said that there are exposed nails and staples in the bedrooms, and that he could fix that, but I told him that I don't have money until after the estate sale.
I went through a few boxes while listening to a meeting at work. Whatever works :)
The estate sale people said that I could stay over at Mom's house through a week from Saturday, but I need to schedule a walkthrough.
I took a nap and slept for 3.5 hours. I must have needed it.
