I was sitting in the kitchen to cool off. Zara and Mimi were going, “How can you just sit there when we’re hungry??” Eventually I got up and fed them.

I bought a sweater drying rack so that I can wash my new sweater to take it to Minneapolis with me. It’s colder there than here. I need to figure out more business casual outfits, which means that I need to unpack some boxes. I need to find my tweed blazers. That would be a good “hot evening” task. My life coach is right. I need to figure out what to do when. I started doing that.

Washed out Mimi’s carrier. Now I know why her carrier smelled so bad; she pooped in there. I got it smelling sweet, but it took some work. I put it upstairs. It’s still so hot upstairs that my chest hurts.

Snuggled with Zara and got to bed earlish. Went back to sleep twice in the morning and didn't take my morning shower. I must have needed the sleep.

It's okay upstairs now. It's supposed to go up to only 74F, so I should be able to get some mowing done.

The cats clearly like my cranking the a/c downstairs, but it’s running all the time and it’s downright cold, so I need to adjust the setting up. Actually it’s pretty good at 69F.

Took Mimi to the vet. She was sleeping when I got her into the carrier, which helped, although she tried to get out. She was good at the vet. I made a dental appointment for Zara on the 23rd, dropping her off the night before.

Hmm. I’m feeling really tired. Maybe I should nap and get up really early tomorrow to mow.

There is a window air conditioner upstairs that I should try before buying a new one. (I still want one that also has heat, but if I can wait until after the Italy trip, it would help.) I just ordered an extension cord from Walmart and some other stuff to make it a decent-sized order. I also ordered a reusable lawn and leaf bag to use with the compost bin, which I need to assemble.

Napped and woke up at 5 AM after an elaborate dream about the guy in Canada that I had liked. The cats are hungry and Mimi is talkative.

Starting to Organize Clothes for the Trip

Started washing out litter boxes before my trip.

Zara is loving me up. :) My heart is full of love for this funny little cat.

My final exam has posted. I looked through it to have it percolating in the back of my mind while I mow. I'm going to work on it and the writeup for my algorithms class tonight.

Crud. I got the wrong extension cord (a two-prong) for the air conditioner. Walmart required shipping for a three-prong, so I ordered one from Amazon and it should get here tomorrow. I guess that I'll go to Lowe's if need be tomorrow. Actually, I'll borrow my power strip for the computer to test it today.

Had lunch. Showered. It’s gotten lateish, so I’m going to go to the post office to get it off of my list. Also pick up some toothpaste. All done. I also got a notebook and erasable pens for my conference. And gas.

Went in the basement to try to turn on the outside water. The garden needs watering. I turned on a spigot that has to be it based on how the lines run, but no water. I guess that I’ll have to get a plumber in here to look at it. I’ll need to clean off the basement stairs first.

Zara wants food. I have a headache, so I took some acetaminophen and am eating some cheesecake. Zara wants the cheesecake. Forget it, Zara. (Yes, I fed her and Mimi.)

Decided to lie down for an hour to get rid of the headache. Okay, I didn’t sleep but my headache is mostly gone.

Crappity crappity crap. The lawn mower stopped working. The safety key broke off. I do have an extended warranty on it, but I need something else while it gets fixed. I wonder if I could rent a gas mower from Home Depot just to knock down the lawn. Nope.

I ordered a new, more expensive mower from Lowe’s to come on Monday. I’m learning that you get what you pay for with mowers. I need to find the extended warranty to get this one fixed. Sigh.

I’m cooling off and then I’m going to work on the garden.

I better work on cleaning and packing this weekend so that I can concentrate on mowing after the new mower gets here.

I decided to work on the garden in the morning when it’s cool.

I got my property tax bill and it isn’t too horrible. I also got the sweater dryer so I can wash the sweater.

Got some shorts and a t-shirt out for cleaning the bathroom.

Started going through clothes boxes. I found some nice clothes, but I need to wash them. My back hurts. I lay down on the bed to stretch my back out, and Zara joined me.

Oh good. Here comes a storm. Wow, rain is coming down in buckets.

Emptied another couple of boxes. Haven’t found my tweed blazers yet. Oh ugh, I think that they might be in storage in Michigan. I found some black blazers though and black jeans and black yoga pants. I’ll work something out. Oh, I found one tweed blazer! It's coming to Minneapolis with me!

Started my mass quantities of laundry. Tried to pay my first installment of the property taxes, but the Web site timed out. I'm tired and it's hot upstairs and my back hurts. I think that I'll go to bed early and get up early.

Yay! I found my PacSafe backpack, which is going to Minneapolis and Italy with me. I'll start packing it tomorrow.
