Fresh air

For most of the week, I didn't want to smoke at all. (I've been incredibly sleepy though.) I started drinking tea to soothe my throat, and my chronic sore throat went away. The residual smoke in my home was bothering me, so I was wishing that there was a way to air the place out without any danger of the cats falling out the window.

Be careful of what you ask for, I guess. A painter is going to paint the front door, and I'll need to leave it open for a few hours, so I had to shut Random and Harlee in my bedroom. (Poor Harlee--she was so scared when she investigated my bedroom, and so upset when I shut the door. Never underestimate the siren call of tuna though.) Now all I need is for the painter to come, and he better come today. I'm about to contact the voice teacher, and I hope that I'll have a lesson up in the City next Saturday.

Nonetheless, I did smoke late last night and this morning. Need to pull my act together.

After not having smoked for over 20 years, it's amazing how you can smell residual smoke in rooms and on people's clothes. One of my most powerful childhood memories involved visits to a friend of my parents apartment. He was an old man and smoked cigars, and the smell would almost knock you over when you went in.

Yeah, I'm smelling it in my place and on my clothes.
